An historic building, symbol of the Monegasque Belle Époque: we are at Hotel Hermitage in Monte Carlo, an exquisite 5-star facility with 278 rooms and suites, offering their customers a luxury spa, a restaurant with panoramic terrace and direct access to the exclusive Monte Carlo Beach Club.
KE’s PMO Department – who is in charge of big tailor-made projects, both for private customers and for the contract sector – was contacted by the owners to find the fittest solution for the panoramic terrace used to serve breakfast, which gives a breathtaking view on Port Hercules.
The main need was to shelter the terrace through an elegant solar shading system with light lines – ensuring at the same time a minimum aesthetic impact, in harmony with the hotel’s Art Nouveau style.
Kheope of KE Sails range was chosen: a sail structure using innovative materials, inspired by the nautical world, which is greatly appreciated for its sinuous lines and essential design.
Four Kheope sails 7×7 metres were installed, customised with one central pole to which four booms are fixed, with three wall-mount brackets and three poles on the perimeter of the terrace. The chosen fabric is a resin-coated, sand-coloured Tempotest Starlight.
The four motorised sails can stand independently of one another: in fact, they can be opened or closed on their own. This technical detail allows to have a very practical management of the panoramic terrace together with optimum comfort and protection against bad weather for all Hermitage’s customers.
