An Icelander falls in love so deeply with Tuscany that he decides to move there with his family and take over an agriturismo-country house in the heart of the hills around Grosseto, in Montieri. It may seem the beginning of a fairy tale – but actually this is how the life of Agriturismo La Meridiana started, a corner of peace and relax surrounded by olive trees, a few kilometres away from Massa Marittima.
The recently renewed La Meridiana is an elegant country house in which every detail is studied to offer their guests the best possible wellbeing conditions. During this renovation phase, the customer expressed the need to design an outdoor cover for the restaurant area – delicate in its look and respecting environmental restrictions – in addition to a covered area for guests using the swimming pool.
The owner contacted KE dealer Paesaggi d’Acqua from Cecina (Siena) – in cooperation with Studio di Architettura Paolo Cialli from Montieri (Siena) – to find the proper solution for the restaurant’s panoramic terrace, which offers a breathtaking view on the surrounding countryside.
The major need was to cover the terrace with an elegant, light shading system: a KHEOPE sail from KE’s Sails range was chosen, designed with nautical materials such as SAE 304 steel and Dacron that ensure high resistance against weathering.
In cooperation with KE’s Technical Dept. three custom KHEOPE sails were designed with three central poles to which the booms are fastened, with three wall brackets and three poles on the terrace’s perimeter. The chosen cloth is a resin-coated, white Tempotest Starlight. Each sail is motorised and independent from the others: in fact, they can be opened or closed autonomously, ensuring maximum efficiency in the management of the restaurant’s panoramic terrace.
In the swimming pool area, a self-supporting SAKI pergola awning from Gennius range was installed: the wave-shaped upper cloth and the drapes create a romantic atmosphere which is perfect for that rural landscape.
KE’s customised solutions are designed to create new outdoor spaces to be used all year round and to provide guests of all accommodation businesses with maximum aesthetic and functional comfort.
