The Falkensteiner Hotel Kronplatz is in the Plan de Corones area of South Tyrol, where the view extends from the Val Pusteria through the Valle Anterselva and the Val Casies, until reaching the Val Badia to the south. Designed by Matteo Thun & Partners and situated in front of the ski lifts of Plan di Corones, this 5-star hotel has 97 ultra-modern rooms and suites, offering guests a unique, tailor-made stay with exceptional concierge services.
In order to create an elegant, shaded area compatible with the modern Alpine design of the hotel, the client trusted the expertise of KE’s PMO Office. KE PMO specializes in large projects for the hospitality industry and chose to work with Architect Fabio Lardera, who created the original design for KE’s Kheope shade sails.
Much like the natural elements of the mountain, which were the original inspiration for Thun & Partners, KHEOPE takes inspiration from nautical materials, such as stainless-steel and water-repellent fabrics. KE SAILS not only protect from the sun but also guarantee excellent resistance to nature’s harsh elements.
The design team chose to install three KHEOPE sails in the courtyard to create a shaded area for guests to relax while enjoying the beauty of the garden. Elegantly simple in their design, the 3 side-by-side sails are motorized and equipped with a wind sensor that closes the sails in the event of high winds.
