We are in the south of France, in the historic center of Nice. The capital of the Côte d’Azur is famous for its sunny climate, for its chic, elegant, sophisticated but also young, sparkling and colorful attitude. Here, in addition to a prestigious university, there is the Institution Stanislas, a primary and secondary school that welcomes many students between the ages of eight and eighteen.
The outdoor area of the historic villa where the school is located has been beautifully renovated using outdoor shading products from KE. The school turned to KE’s PMO Office to propose the best solution to create a new, elegant and functional way to bring the indoors outside for this new, year-round, outdoor dining space.
To provide shade to students and teachers during the hot season and shelter from rain during the winter, the best options came down to two KE pergolas: ISOLA 3 and KEDRY PRIME. Both products are especially known for their flexible, modular design and highly customizable options.
A solution that combines style with quality, the essential lines of ISOLA 3 and KEDRY PRIME, shown here in Black Inver, integrate perfectly with the school building and with the centuries-old park that surrounds it. The customization of the project also involved the external panoramic windows, the interior windows – useful for separating the student area from the teacher area – and three doors with panic bars that meet the needs of accessibility and safety.
This example reflects the success of KE’s advanced design for the renovation and renewal of the common areas of a school building in which the KE pergolas were able to multiply the outdoor living space and create new, multipurpose and multifunctional areas, usable in any season of the year.
